COMMUNITY CARE LICENSING DEPARTMENT

CCLD'S website is available for those seeking licensed childcare. Licensed Providers' information is available that includes inspection notices, anad type A & B violations. Type A include violations that a provider may be fined for. Type B could be a form missing from a file, a closure not functioning properly or anything the analyst's attention is drawn to. Analysts are required to follow regulations as they interpret situations. The interpretations can be skewed by an analyst's personal bias.

LITTLE CRUMBLES CCLD REPORT

LC has had A & B Violations over 25 years. All have been cleared but the information remains for 3 years at least. Files were corrected, Immunization verifications ware provided. Staff members were discharged. CCLD does not provide space for providers to comment. The allocation of a child left unsupervised was made by an analyst during covid who was not an analyst for childcare but adult care. The unsupervised child was in a quiet room to participate in online classes during covid shutdown. There were 2 students in the classroom. She was 8 years old. She also was given a quiet space in the playroom after her classes so she could unwind while the younger children were outside. Her parent was aware of the arrangements and she was monitored in both spaces. Violations are wake ups and draw our attention to something that needs attention, more training or a resolve. Google CCLD for  Little Crumbles' reports by entering the license number.

TRANSPARANCY

In December 2025 Little Crumbles Family Child Care received significant Social Media chatter. Misinformation was everywhere as posters reposted. The local newspaper Alameda Post published an inaccurate incident account. THE BASIC STORY FOLLOWS.

A child wandered from the group and went next door. The child did not escape from the yard. Was not close to a busy avenue. The police report states he was by our property. A neighbor & her out of control puppy interfered with staff as they regrouped the children to go into our gated yard. Until this incident our children were taken out front to ride around our circle and n the driveway. The child was holding onto a staff's leg & let go as children were going back inside the yard. The child went to the stroller area to buckle the straps as he did daily when staff and children were in the front yard. In the confucion staff did not notice he moved away to do his self assigned task. He wandered to the sidewalk where he was seen by the Good Samaritan. He was not missed as the staff had just gone in the gated yard. Staff responded to Good Samaritan at the gate, thanked him and apologized. Parent was called immediately with information that was assumed accurate. Police and licensing report were filed. It was a 3 minute incident, in no way is LC attempting to minimize this. As owner and staff we are grateful no harm came to the child. New procedures have been established, on site training especially as to what to do during chaotic and confusing situations that may cause a moment of distraction. Full disclosure has been given to all clients via the licensing investigation report and will continue to be given to new clients for the following 12 months. Please if you have questions, ask them.
