Little Crumbles Family Child Care is located in the lower level of the family home of life-long Alameda resident Christine Kanbergs. Her parents purchased the 1903 Queen Ann Victorian Cottage in 1950, and raised their four children. Christine purchased it from them in 1972, raising her own five children in the home before establishing Little Crumbles in 2001.
Little Crumbles is a large family childcare home licensed for 12 to 14 children. Our typical day provides childcare for 8 to 10 children, a maximum of 4 children under age two. We offer covered outdoor play areas in our large, fenced yard and utilize the lower level of our home to provide diverse play and learning environments. LC is committed to providing a healthy, safe and green child care.
Christine has a long history of child development and education, completing coursework at Merritt College and Cal State Hayward. She participates in annual professional childcare provider workshops and conferences at the state and local level. Christine home-educated three of her five children for fifteen years using the home as the learning environment and the surrounding Bay Area communities for extended learning activities and opportunities.
